Death's Head Hawk Moth Brooch

£40
7cm x 4cm | Birch Ply, Eco-friendly paint, metal brooch pin
Beautifully shaped and often dramatically patterned, British moths are the inspiration for Shark Alley’s new mini-collection.
This is the death’s head hawk moth, which is a late summer visitor to the UK, and the largest species of moth to inhabit the British Isles. Its name comes from the distinctive skull-like marking on the thorax, and it also has the ability to squeak when alarmed.
Every detail on the death’s head hawk moth brooch is individually painted by hand, with the colours carefully built up in layers. The back of the death’s head hawk is painted a deep blue.

The brooch is cut from FSC certified sustainable birch and both sides are finished with a satin varnish.

Like all Shark Alley designs, it is light and easy to wear.

The death’s head hawk comes beautifully packaged, with its own display card. The packaging is recyclable.

* Please note, each moth is painted by hand and may differ very slightly from the one pictured here. It may also include brush stroke textures.

Three other moth designs are also available.

*FREE UK SHIPPING* is available on this product.
