Goldcrest - Hand Painted Brooch
Inspired by watching the amazing variety of birdlife in my local city park, I have chosen some of my favourites to create the Park Life collection - a range of hand painted bird brooches.
The goldcrest is Britain's tiniest bird (along with the firecrest) and gets its name from the beautiful golden yellow flash on the top of its head.
This lovely bird has been the basis for this stylised goldcrest brooch design, cut from FSC certified sustainable birch and painted entirely by hand using eco-friendly Farrow and Ball colours. The back of the brooch is painted a vibrant scarlet red and both sides are finished with a satin varnish.
The goldcrest brooch measures 4.5cm wide and like all Shark Alley designs, it is light and easy to wear.
The brooch comes beautifully packaged, with its own display card, and also includes a cute little card featuring a photo of one of the goldcrests from my park, plus some fun goldcrest facts. The packaging is recyclable.
