Hoopoe Brooch
Bringing a touch of exotic plumage to your outfit, this boldly patterned hoopoe brooch has black and white striped wings and an impressive crest.
Although these gorgeous orange birds are not native to Britain, they sometimes visit Southern UK and attempt to breed here during warmer years, so that's a good enough excuse to add them to the collection!
The brooch is cut from FSC certified sustainable birch and painted entirely by hand using water-based eco-friendly paint. The back of the hoopoe is painted in a dark teal and both sides are finished with a satin varnish.
Like all Shark Alley designs, the hoopoe is light and easy to wear and can be styled on anything from jackets and t-shirts to hats and scarves.
The hoopoe brooch comes beautifully packaged, with its own display card, and also includes a little card featuring one of my hoopoe photos, plus some fun hoopoe facts.
The packaging is recyclable.
